Waverly Guitar Strap Button

About This Item

Details make the difference: these beautiful strap buttons match our bridge pins, and the knobs on Waverly guitar tuning machines.

They'll add a touch of class to your guitar. Each is precisely machined (none of the unsightly mold lines found on plastic buttons), and polished to accent the beauty of the material. A special countersunk brass bushing helps protect the button against overtightening — a unique StewMac feature.

Button diameter: 17/32" (13.28mm)
Button height: 7/16" (11.11mm)

Sold individually.

Strap button felt washers protect your guitar's finish.

Our white, ivoroid, and dark tortoise strap buttons are made of Galalith, a dense and durable casein-based material that polishes beautifully. Popular in the early 20th century, Galalith is seen today mainly in collectible vintage jewelry. It cannot be molded; each pin is precisely machined and has none of the unsightly mold lines common to plastic pins.

Nice button, no felt

By

I bought this for a solid koa Koaloha ukulele, and it looks great on the uke. The provided screw was a little long for a small instrument, but a more appropriate length was on hand. More disappointing was the lack of a felt washer to protect the instrument's woo and prevent potential rattles. Waverly should supply thee with all strap buttons.

additional beauty

I bought this strap pin to add to a mahogony guitar I built in 2010. I stained it in an amber tone body and neck with tortoise shell binding, tail and end pieces and herring bone inlay on top and back and sound hole and a Gibson J200 center strip in the back. I recently added snake wood bridge pins and strap pin with abalone inlay. Essentially it is a D-18 replica but much prettier with snow flake, diamond, squares and cat eyes inlay on the fret board with a letter "D" inlay on the head stock for my last name. This addition add to the beauty of this instrument.

Excellent vintage buttons

I bought several of these, and have found they are not only great looking, but strong. I was concerned about using wood for a button, but the grain direction is well selected. I haven't had any problems witht hese, and they look so good on the right guitar

Looks cool!

This is just a nice touch for my OM-28. Would have been nicer if a felt washer had been included (I had one from an unused, cheaper, unit). Quick and thoughtful service from Stewmac.

Great design and execution. The ivoroid is pretty and these buttons are a nice snug fit for my leather strap.

Nearly...

I bought a few of these to sex up a couple of my guitars, and they certainly are pretty.. One thing immediately apparent is that the machining is not precise enough that the screw head sits flush with the top of the button on all occasions, 2/3 of mine have the screw sitting gently proud of the button.

If you're not paying attention you'll discover that they are also fragile, lean on that screwdriver a little too much and the shoulder will crack. So that felt washer you see protecting the finish of your guitar is now necessary to protect your strap button (and they are sold separately...)

Good choice of strap buttons.

These all appear to be good quality buttons. They look professional when installed even though they take only gentle use of a cordless drill. The tortoiseshell matched the finish of my guitar quite well

Excellent Strap Button

These are beautiful strap buttons, and work very well.
I do have one complaint, I attached one of these to my Taylor 514, and the screw that is supplied with the button was too long, as the Taylor "heel" is quite thin. I purchased a shorter brass screw, and the installation was no problem.
