Economy 3-on-Plate Tuners

About This Item

For solid or slotted peghead steel-string guitars. These inexpensive open-gear tuners will make that yardsale special playable again!

They're versatile: the 1/4" (6.35mm)-diameter string posts have double holes, so you can install these tuners on solid or slotted pegheads. Nickel-plated with white plastic knobs.

1-3/8" (34.93mm) string post spacing, 14:1 gear ratio. Complete set of 3-left, 3-right. Mounting screws included.

Installation Tips

Mounting screws: Pilot holes required. Installing delicate screws into hard wood requires great care and accuracy. We highly recommend the #1711 Depth-stop Drill Bit (No.50 bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (also wax or a bar of soap) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.

Economy Tuners

I used these to replace a set on my friend's pretty low-end guitar, which actually had a broken worm.
They seem to be of good quality and operate well. Better than one might expect for the price. A definite upgrade for this one.

Great delivery & such. Looks to be a nice fit tho orig. tuners are not problematic- just iffy) and are still in place. Good chance I won't need the hammer drill & Bondo. I love my ol' guitar. Glad to learn about Stewmac

These tuners are a good cost-effective replacement for the tuners that came with my $165 Gretsch Jim Dandy parlor guitar.

I bought these tuners for my old acoustic guitar which is about 45 years old. They fit perfectly into the existing tuner holes, but I needed to drill new holes for the screws. Definitely an improvement! This guitar has become my test bed for my novice luthier skills. Next up is making a new bone nut. It could probably use a refret as well, but I'd like to complete this round of mods to see how it plays before doing a refret. The neck turned out to be very straight for a guitar of this vintage.

Tuners did the job

Bought the economy tuners for a 1950's Silvertone flat top. The specs on website made it easy to determine they would fit. My nine year old grandson is showing some interest and this little guitar is a good place to start. I think they are are good value for what we needed.

A friend wanted me to fix up his Mom's old student guitar for his kids to play. 3 tuner buttons were missing. For the price of replacement buttons (and modifying to fit) on eBay, I got these and they fit perfect. Easy peazey!!!!!
