Direct Swap and huge improvement on Alvarez ABT60 Baritone - Grover 102CV (C= Chrome)

By

I took a chance on the Grover 102V (102CV) tuners as the stock tuners on my Alvarez ABT60 Baritone were stiff, very imprecise, and wouldn't hold tune. The Grovers are a direct swap for the stock no-name tuners on the Alvarez ABT60. The fit is perfect and even the hole for the single mounting screw is in the same place, and one can re-use the original screws. The Grovers made a huge difference, allowing smooth, easy, and much more precise tuning. They hold tune very well, and that has improved the sound of this moderately priced Baritone guitar. Highly recommended.

Tuners, and tuners. We see lot's yes? I've installed a bunch this year and these Grover's were a bit of a surprise. Reminds me of why they are on some of the best guitars ever made. Smooth.

This guitar had a broken tuner for years. I decided to get it back to working condition. After a few measurements I chose the Grover Milk Bottle 3+3 tuners. They dropped right in. It cant' get perfecter than that!

1970's Yamaha

Got these for a highly modified 1970's Yamaha SG500B. I went with the summary/description that said these were a direct replacement for 70's guitars, and sure enough these fit right in with no adjustments needed. I always recommend Grovers or really any high ratio tuners on this website. Stewmac has the best prices and best service bar none!

I wanted these to go on my es 339. I found the build, gear ratio, and ease of installment to be exactly what I was hoping for. They stay in excellent tune and look great! There were some holes to be filled in, but they are not really noticeable.

Grover Rotomatics

Grover "Milk Bottle" Rotomatics were original equipment on my 1980's vintage Sho-Bud LDG pedal steel. The new tuners fit perfectly. The only exception being strings 5 and 6, which directly oppose each other on the aluminum key head. The factory casting did not allow enough space for both, so the ends of the stems of these two tuners must be carefully ground to fit without interfering with each other. Just like new, thanks!

Excellent tuners!

These are similar to Grovers I had back in the '70's on a Les Paul I had. They operate smoothly and hold tuning well (as long as you wrap the strings properly). I'm using them on a Gibson LP/SG reissue, and they look great and add a nice amount of weight to the headstock. My impression is they also add sustain due to the weight. I would definitely recommend them.

Good Quality Tuners

I called Martin and they suggested the Grover "Milk Bottle" 102V tuners. I had just a little drilling to do at each tuner to widen the hole. No big deal. My guitar is a 1973 D35. It's been three weeks now and I have no complaints.
