Great quality tuning pegs for the money

I bought these to replace the basic tuning pegs on my Fluke Flea ukulele. One of the nylon washers seemed to have been faulty, and stewmac provided a replacement quickly - what fantastic customer service!

The Flea is now easily tuned, and the pegs work very well.

Thanks Stewmac!

Found an old Hawaiian Uke that had broken tuning pegs. These worked perfect and now the uke lives again!

Excellent option for vintage Martins

By

These were a direct replacement for a late-20’s Martin Style 0—no routing or drilling required. Tension is easy to adjust, and the tuners look correct enough. Highly recommended!

Good value, installed easily, look and work good

Restoring an ancient banjo uke. Once I drilled the holes out bigger, they look and work fine with new uke strings I bought at the same time. Black buttons nicely replicate the original (worthless) black button friction tuners.

Excellent low-cost friction pegs

It's not clear from StewMac's description but I can confirm that these are Grover 6s.

For a low-cost friction peg, they're excellent. These are basic compared to the Waverlys but they're well-made, very light and sturdy. I'd recommend them for smaller ukes where keeping the weight down is important. The buttons are plastic but a decent quality and don't look cheap.

I drilled 5/16" only on the top, deep enough for the bushing, and went through to the back of the headstock with a smaller drill bit, just big enough for the shaft of the tuner.

In response to the other review (1 star), no friction peg on the market will stay in tune if they're not tight enough. There is a sweet spot between having enough friction and still being able to turn (tune) smoothly. Once you find it, you're good to go.

i got a set to put on several ukuleles i am building. I was never able to keep them from turning. I will only buy geared turners from now on. I have checked bridge and other things and i just gave up on them.
