StewMac Guitar Bench Pad

About This Item

Grit-free work surface.
A quick brush or shake sweeps away filings and solder bits that cause scratches. The supple, dense polyisoprene is non-reactive and safe for guitar finishes.

It's tough enough to survive years of abuse. The non-slip surface won't slide around as you work.

"We tried every kind of material, looking for the perfect bench mat. We finally found it!"
—Erick Coleman, guitar repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Our Bench Pad is twice as thick as other mats, so your guitars are much better protected. Even the color was chosen for guitar work: unlike black surfaces, tiny parts and wood shavings show up clearly on this pad, so you know it’s time to sweep up!

Tip: Cut the mat into small grip pads for drill press tables or for use under sharpening stones. Great for holding vintage necks in a vise, too.

18" x 24" x 3/16" (457mm x 610mm x 4.76mm)

SAVE when you buy the Guitar Bench Pad with these neck supports:

StewMac Deadblow Neck Rest: a shock-absorbing support that conforms to fit any instrument on your bench. It solidly absorbs hammer blows during fretwork.

Rock-n-Roller Neck Rests: Set of 2 tilting, self-leveling contoured wooden neck cradles to fit any guitar or bass.

Deluxe Rock-n-Roller Neck Rest: Set of 2 solid hardwood cradles with soft cork for finish protection. This Deluxe version adds extra support cauls and the ability to clamp to your workbench.

This little bench pad just does its job, period. It just sits there and protects the instruments from being scratched or damage while I do my work. I liked it so much, I now have two sitting side by side as my main work surface. Just be sure to treat unfinished wood with care. The surface of the bench pad likes to hold on to things, like little bits of wax. I even like the color!

Best pad I have found. Cleans up great with a shop vac (brush attachement).

StewMac, offer optional sizes. Bet you would sell a lot more!

Got this for assembling electronic circuit board and putting together chassis's

This will prevent having to work on a hard surface while stuffing and soldering circuit boards as well as assembling chassis's.Believe that the coloring of the mat will provide good visibility on what I will be working on.

Nice pad.  Couple issues

By

Verified Buyer

This is a good pad and will be used heavily. There are two issues. It is too small. Also, after considerable work using this pad, it appears that the non-slick feature is going to stop working as nicely as I need it to. (Otherwise I would just use a towel or carpet scrap.) The little indentations have filled with wood dust. My old decrepit rubber pad was much better in this regard.
Still, with nothing else available, I will buy this again. Better than nothing.
