About This Item

Upgrade with vintage Fender tone...instantly!
With premium pickups and expert wiring, it's never been easier to get the classic Fender sound.

Fender's pre-wired pickguards are the easiest (and fastest) way to upgrade your tone. Fender takes a set of their custom 57/62 pickups and wires them up with the same top quality switches, pots, and wiring used in their incredible factory guitars. The 11-hole pickguard is the exact one used in the factory—it fits dozens of Fender Strats.

Best of all—it's a drop-in upgrade! You'll save hours of work and have a completely rewired guitar in no time at all.

Handmade pickups with a vintage voice
The 57/62 pickups were modeled directly from the original pickups in a sweet sounding 1963 Strat. They'll give you that classic vintage Strat sound, with warm and clear lows and glassy bell-like highs. The hand-beveled and staggered Alnico V magnets have all of the feel and dynamics that make a 60s Strat so revered. They're made with nothing but the good stuff: formvar magnet wire, cloth wiring, and fiber bobbins.

The Fender Original 57/62 Pre-wired Stratocaster Pickguard features:

  • Completely pre-wired pickups, pots, and switch
  • Fender 57/62 single-coil pickup set: neck, middle, and bridge
  • High quality 250k pots, cap, and switch
  • Shielded multi-ply 11-hole pickguard
  • As installed in Fender USA guitars

Jack and pickguard mounting screws sold separately. We have tons of choices to match or upgrade your guitar.

Pretty Happy

Verified Buyer

I'm very happy with the tones from the pickups, it's got the real Deal tone. A word of caution: the screw holes from there previous pick guard may need some filling and re-drilling as has been noted by at least one other person. About half of the original holes on my Squier body needed that. (NOTE: The Squier body I have has a mis-aligned vibrato plate on it, so it's possible this particular body's screw holes might be mis-aligned in general.)

Another thing to be careful of is where it meets the neck, I had to shave off a tiny bit so the Mighty Mite replacement neck would fit properly with it.

One last thing to be aware of is the thickness of the body and cavity depth. I had to remove a bit of wood on the cavity sidewall so one of the pots would fit into the cavity, no big deal. But, it's important to be aware that some Squier bodies are thinner than Fender Strat bodies and the solder lugs for the pickup sector switch hit the bottom if I tighten the pick guard screws down all the way and I get no sound from the neck pickup or the volume dips and takes the tone with it from shorting to the grounding paint. I need to remove everything and remove some wood (but not too much or it will go through the body) to get the with lugs up off the shielding paint to prevent that happening. And then maybe I will need some more grounding paint to replace what needs to be removed with the excess wood.

Definitely gets the classic Sultan's of Swing tone pretty closely on the bridge pickup and also the Wind Cries Mary on the bass pickup. I think Ry Cooder want to jump out of the middle pickup, time will tell.

The thinner and more resonant Squier body is a very excellent tonal match, very lively and lots of usable colours in the tonal pallet with this combo.

As the saying goes "She's a keeper!"
