Honduran Mahogany Paint-grade Body Blank

Perfect for an opaque finish, these genuine Mahogany body blanks are a steal! Get all of the classic Mahogany tone for a fraction of the price.

With the ideal combination of tone and weight, Honduran Mahogany has been revered for crafting electric guitars for decades. Its tone is warm and midrange-focused with complex overtones. It's been the primary wood for Gibson solid body guitars since the 1950s.

Sized for electric guitars, these blanks have a few minor imperfections (pin knots, color streaks, etc.) making them ideal for solid, opaque finishes. We make these in-house from the same wood as our premium AAA blanks.

Approximate dimensions:
20-1/2" x 14" x 1-3/4" (520mm x 355mm x 44mm)

About Honduran Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla)
Building with Honduran Mahogany is a joy. The routed edges cut crisp and clean. It sands to a fine powder, and it accepts stains and finishes evenly and consistently. Honduran Mahogany is an open pore wood, so grain filler should be used before finishing.
