Just fair - there are better options for the money

I purchased these tuners for my 1965 Gibson LG1 to replace the OEM tuners that were badly tarnished, hard to turn, and unstable holding pitch. While the new tuners fit perfectly, I was dissapointed that they aren't any easier to turn and don't hold pitch any better than the old ones.

As a result, I'm taking them off of the guitar - just ordered a set of Kluson wafflebacks from Stew Mac. I would have liked to return this item but unfortunately replaced the white plastic buttons with ivoroid ones before mounting them.

Great tuners

I've ordered two sets of these, to replace stuck or bent originals on a couple of old SGs. I didn't use the included bushings or screws; these were an exact fit into the old bushings, and the screw holes were also perfectly spaced. Nice smooth action, and they hold a tune.

Vintage-style Tuners

These work great for my '65 Stella guitar. They fit perfectly with no alteration and my guitar stays in tune with true harmonic pitch. They look
nice without being cumbersome or heavy. I have used them for a month and they are excellent. I would buy the same ones again if I ever get a second guitar that these tuners would fit.

Great Replacement Machines, Easy to 'Vintage'

I used these tuners on a customer's 40 year old Gibson LG1. The original tuners were just plain painful to turn. The new machines fit perfectly. I re-used the original tuner grommets. I aged the machines to match the vintage of the Gibson by sanding off the casting lines on the buttons, applying a bit of brown shoe polish, sanding a bit on the plated metal areas and then soaking in Dr Pepper for a few minutes. Added a bit of amber shellac 'splatter' and they looked nice and vintage, to match the guitar.

Vintage style tuners

Great for what they are. Used in a 70's Epi repair job & they work fine for the application.

Missing Tuners

I received a Yamaha OM style guitar for repair. It needed new tuners. After taking measurements to ensure fit. I ordered these. The spacing was dead on. The Yamaha tuner holes were a little large but that was easily taken care of.

Old lap steels now in tune.

I replaced the original tuners on a Gibson BR9 lap steel and the original tuners on a Supro Supreme lap steel with the Vintage-style 3-on-Plate Tuners. The replacement tuners fit perfect into the old slots. Now it's easy to tune both instruments into pitch and they stay there even with heavy strings.
