Includes the Fishman Switchjack: a stereo jack that can be used for mono, stereo, or mono with battery switching capabilities. Like all passive transducers, this pickup does not require a battery. The Switchjack™ tightens from outside the guitar, and accepts a standard 1/4" (6.35mm) plug. 1/2" (12.70mm) diameter mounting hole required. An impedance-matching preamp is recommended, but not required.

Gold endpin jack strap button available to match your gold hardware.

Great pickup

I recently installed this pickup in a cheap import guitar for a client and he and I both were amazed at the quality of sound this pickup produced. This is one of the best pickups I have ever seen in its price range.

3916 transducer only

I bought two and soldered them to a 3914 endpin jack I already had. I mounted them at opposite ends of the bridge inside the body of my Fender F3 acoustic. Sound is superb. The hookup wire on the transducer is verrrry delicate, it took several tries to strip back the insulation without damaging the wire. If you are not into this I would recommend the pre assembled rig.

Terrific pickup for the price

Easy install and great sound. Easily picks up the full spectrum of sound. Combine this with a good quality amp and be ready to wow 'em!

schatten transducer

I used 2 transducers linked to the same jack to amplify a friends celtic harp. Placed inside the instrument, on the soundboard, one a third of the distance from the bottom, the other a third of the distance from the top as near as possible to the the central string attachment bar. I glued each transducer to a thin slice of spruce using cyanoacrylate glue, then the slice of spruce to the soundboard with double sided adhesive tape, to make them removable. I use the schatten preamp "mini pre" after having boosted the gain by turning the tiny potentiometer placed inside the preamp near the battery, the result is very good; it works even better with a more sophisticated preamp. We are very happy.

eazy instalation

I installed this transducer in my A style mandolin that I built.I had to attach it to underside of the top before I put the instrument together. Now I cannot access it if I want to reposition it.Lucky for me it sounds good.

Great sound

I bought 4 of these for 2 guitars a ukuelele and a Martin Back Packer.
I had the whole project done in about two hours. This was the very first time I did anything like this.
I must say I was very pleased at how easy they were to install. The sound quality is great! Over all this was well worth the cash that I invested.

Buen comienzo

Schatten Soundboard Transducer

My favorite guitar is this limited edition Takamine, which is a steel-string copy of a Bruno parlor guitar. I originally put a Sunrise magnetic pickup on it. The amplified sound was good, but it took away from the appearance. The heaviness of the pickup limited the vibration of the small top. The Schatten was the perfect solution for amplification. It did take 5-6 positionings to find the "sweet spot" (on the bass side of the bridge plate next to the 6th string). Other positions yielded certain resonant frequency bias rather then a flat response. Check out all fingerboard notes before committing installation. You can do this on the top before attaching inside. And, best of all, it it's very affordable! Last of all, make friends with the sound engineer: he/she can make you sound great (or not).
