[ARG] Lug position not standard - drop it.

Stew Mac should just drop this switch. Its lug pattern is not std. and any wire up you want to try, you will have to decode. They are just going to cause trouble for folks who don't notice till it's too late. Need I say more? Drop it from catalog.

Not my first choice

To be fair this switch really is not bad. It is set up entirely different than the industry standard though. So if you want to wire up, say, some DiMarzios or Duncans you really need to know what your doing because their wiring diagrams will not work with this switch. You can use their diagram in conjunction with the stu mac diagram to compare what is different and it will work just fine.

Now that I know this I just get all my switches from All Parts. However it is still a fine switch, just not worth the extra steps for me.

Wasn't what I expected

The switch is already making noise and shorting out. I will be replacing it with one from another company. I wasn't happy with this one. I like stewmac stuff but this one was a dud.

Strat style 5 way pickup selector switch

My first experience was with the made in Japan Strat style 5 way pickup selector switch which is part of the Strat wiring package. The switch I received did not make contact in 3 positions resulting in no sound from the middle, middle/bridge, and bridge pickups. I called Stew Mac and they shipped me a replacement right away, which I have had no problems with.

Take Your Chances

This is not one of the best switches out there. Installation was easy, but the switch does not make contact in the neck position. I will fix it myself, but will never buy another one.

Inconsistent quality

To begin with, the lugs on these switches are opposite to CRLs which is the industry standard. Hence, if one follows wiring diagrams based on Fender's layout they have to have a mirror image to ensure it works.

The quality of there switches are inconsistent as some contact points do not actually touch the common rotary slider. I bought two and one was faulty which instead of returning it, I repaired it to make sure the contact points will touch.

In the first time seems very good but after i discover they have problems in the lug contacts it have fail some times passing over on others and causing noise, cutting the sound!
The material is high quality, have long life contacts but the mechanical process is bad projected!

What a POS....

Terrible contacts, I had to re-bend them to get any signal at all.

Not well made

Contacts went bad after only a few days. Purchased a Fender replacement for 4 dollars cheaper at the guitar store. The metal center shaft is too small and allows too much play between the contacts. Wiring is not standard as well. Only problem I've ever had with Stew Mac. Stew Mac needs to find a supplier in the US.
