The 5 ply black and white pickguard material makes very professional fretboards for steel guitars. I used the fret spacing dimentions, from Stew-Mac. (free) and using a 1/16 dia. endmill, to just cut thru the outer black layer, down to the white, and 1/4 and 5/16 end mills to make the fret markers, and then a dab of red enamel in every other marker dot.
I've bought LOTS of different pickguard materials elsewhere. I've found no other laminate to be any better no matter the cost, and plenty others to be less than satisfying. Besides the quality of the material, the size of the sheet is easy 1.5 x's bigger than anything else I've bought. I feel more at ease to try new designs and not worry about costs if it doesn't work out.
great matérial
To me, it was big enough to make pickguard on my two latest guitars. All the parts for this guitar I bought here at Stewmac. I am also very pleased with your superfast delivery. It only takes a couple of days to have it delivered at my door here in norway.
Great material - good quality pickguard material.
Can perform all kinds of these blanks with the pickguard Stewmac, are easy to make with good finishing, my works are perfect with them!
The BWB pickguard material was just the right thickness, easy to cut with a jigsaw, and easy to shape with blades, a dremel moto tool and sandpaper. I made a custom pickguard for my bass, a recessed back plate and a decorative truss rod cover. I still have material left over for another project!
I didn't actually wind up using this, as I also ordered a b/w/b-plate that fit my projects better. But I'm guessing this one's as good as the b/w/b, so I'm giving five stars. Good quality, good flex, easy to cut.
good flex, easy to cut, nice looking, good quality. not much more to say. after all, it's "only" three plastic sheets of various colors and thicknesses laminated together. wouldn't order anywhere else..
What can I say - it's pick guard material. Worked great to make a full SG Pickguard for a SG Copy I made
