Peg Shaper

I make my own friction pegs for fretless mountain banjo. This is an awesome tool. Little price but well worth the money if you shape a lot of pegs.

needed to turn down an oversized endpin. absolutely flawless end result. there is a limit to the angle/length you can get to, but fortunately my need was JUST inside that envelope! (5 degree endpin).

Doesn't it just make you mad that you have to buy one of these things just because they refuse to manufacture pegs at the right taper? Another thing to do that is critical to smooth pegs is use a tuner adapter for your cordless drill and spin the peg pretty fast when feeding into the shaper. It makes for a far smoother peg.

Nice and sharp. would not even be able to get by without it. Saves hours.

I think that is a fair tool value for money, but with this action-corner adjustment becomes very complicated. I would prefer it to be already adjusted, Classical type I think is much more useful.

Not only did Stewart-MacDonald ship this in record time, the Peg Shaper is easy to use. Perfect pegs every time. Do yourself a favor get the right reamer at the same time.
