No issues at all installing this hoop on a neglected Gold Tone CC50RP. I replaced the hoop, the head, the hooks, and the nuts with StewMac products. It's now a far better instrument
This is a well finished tension hoop, plating is nice but the 1 7/8 inch notch for the neck is too narrow for many type of neck with a fingerboard wider than 1 3/4 inch. Cannot be use for 6 strings banjos or any wider necks at the heel. it should be like the vintage ones 2 1/4 inches wide notch to be usable for Old time banjos or fraling scooped fingerboard.
The five star grooved tension hoops are fantastic quality and value. I have used them on a number of my banjos and find they give you that little bit of flexibility when aligning to the brackets. For me they work perfect on my new decaphonic rim.

I build approximately 100 instruments a year and use Stew Mac tension hoops. Shipping is prompt and quick - about two days for me. Occasionally I have had a problem with the chrome plating flaking off in a spot or two and, each time, I have only to call and a replacement is sent immediately along with return postage for the defective hoop.
