Archtop Bridge with Bone Saddle

Purchased to finish off a rebuild of a vintage archtop guitar from the ground up. Body, Neck, Tuners, etc. Although this is a little more than a adjustable bridge on archtops of the 50's and 60's, it does the job and gives the clearance required.

I have used this on 3 guitar restorations with good results--a Kay, a Silvertone and a Harmony. It brings a nice warm and woody sound to these guitars.

I have had to file down the saddle and bottom of the adjustable bridge piece to compensate for high action on these old guitars. I would suggest offering a similar bridge with a height adjustable from 1/2-1" for old guitars with neck issues.

Used it on an old Symphonie guitar.
Sanded the bottom flat to fit the guitar so it became smaller ,sanded also the top unit flat so the adjustable thumbscrews weren't needed anymore.
There was a piece of paper under the bone saddle, I took that off

If you are building an archtop Acoustic and want power and tone you must use this bridge, I have used it now on 2 guitars and won't use anything else.

. . .when my luthier went to install it on my guitar, he noticed that there were two plastic shims under the bone saddle part! Don't know if this is usual for this item, but to me that seems "tone-robbing." Anyhow, he removed them, but we were surprised to see this.
