Tele Curly Maple/Alder F-hole Body

now it is my #1 guitar

I've built 4 custom Tele-Style guitars for Customers and one for myself. The tops have all been consistently high in quality. 2 were finely flamed and 3 have had both flames and quilts. I wish you guys would bring back the birds eye maple necks.

I'm sure I'll be buying more of them in the future.

I've built two guitars with this curly maple thinline body and both turned out great. The flame is outstanding, and the finished product looks and sounds fantastic.

This is an absolutely beautiful body. The guitar I made out of it instantly became my new favorite.

Since my nick name is Billy, why not name her BillieTele. She was my first major project in '95 or so. All parts came from Stew-Mac. I used their maple Tele neck, S-D Hot, Cool Rail & hotter Tele neck PU. She is dressed in double-binding & pearl inlay on head. I used a custom-tinted vintage-amber (plus a touch of brown to age it some) stain with nitro-lacquer finish. The only regret I have is not adding additional layers of lacquer as 3-4 is not enough if a working girl. Everyone who has played her, ask where did I get that sound! She has a single coil / humbucker 'resonant' bite unlike any I have heard. I think it was more luck and than know-how, but the light-weight body somehow feeds into the bridge Hot-Rail PU.

Anyways, this body is a great foundation for country or rock sounds.

I build my own Thinline with this body and here is the result (picture). She is with Fender Hot Noiseless Tele Pickups and Stewmac body, pickguard, bridge, jack, jack plate and control plate. The maple neck is from a Groovin guitar (the only part that remain from the Groovin).
