Hipshot Hardtail Bridge

Excellent quality! Often install on my isntruments.
The wish, add to the catalog bridge for 7 strings.

I've been using these bridges for many years, it just does not get any better than a Hipshot bridge - period

This is a very good quality bridge. Easy to disassemble for install with enough screw lengh for proper intonation. BUT it has one problem I didnt realize until I played my guitar, the saddles have very sharp corners. This is only a problem for the outer most saddles (low/high E strings). If you palm mute your strings like I love to do, these sharp corners will imediately be felt. It's an easy fix with a small file and some fine grit sandpaper. But I can't help wonder why Hipshot hasn't fixed this problem during production...they should.

great quality product but this is not, as advertised, 2 1/16" spacing, it is exactly 2 1/8". StewMac has agreed to refund me in full. what a wonderful, professional company!

I think the Hipshot 3550 bridge that I got from you is a well built but slightly under-engineered. Case in point, the leading edges of the saddles are quite sharp which is a concern to me as I finger pick quite a bit and dampen the strings with the outer palm of my hand to get that thump thump effect. The sharp front edges of the string saddles should be softened by rounding them off to make the bridge more hand-friendly; especially at the price range. Other wise it's a solid piece of equipment. Build like a tank, solid and heavy. Perfect for string through guitar projects. Chrome plating looks nice and durable.

Great fixed bridge for through body.

I like the product but one screw had so much chrome on it that the screw broke off in the bridge and I don't have an easy out that small to reomve the broken screw.

What a great bridge! the adjustments are perfect and the sides hold the saddles straight ahead instead of letting them slide sideways as you tighten the strings when changing them! Great product! Edward Sparks
