Great wiring kit

This kit was great! I have a JB Player Tele copy and the volume was horrible. I had such bad treble roll off when I turned the volume down and my sound got muddy. Now it stays bright and clear and I get just enough gain drop off so I can turn it down to "8" and play a nice clean rhythm without channel switching my amp. It came with an insulated wire for the input jack. Mine didn't have one and the sound is so much more clear and less buzz. my overall sound is great and so much more tone! love it!

Great parts but.....

This is for a parts-caster project that started with an empty Tele body. As I said, great parts. The pots are smooth and quiet, the switch is top notch and the output jack is solid. However, I think you could do a little better than 26AWG shielded cable. When I tried to strip the inner conductor the entire wire pulled out of the braided shield! I upgraded to a 26 AWG shielded instrument cable and it was much easier to work with. The Tele sounds and plays great with no hum. With such great parts, why cheap out on the wiring?

Telecaster pots

I had a friend put a set of your basic pots and wiring for a telecaster (volume, tone) along with the wiring into a generic telecaster copy guitar. He used the included grownd wire which was bigger than the origina.Without changing the original pickups(which are generic, usual tele pickups). This guitar sounds like it never did before. The pickups are closer in balance and the tone is great If there was a testament to using good pots this was it. Unbelievable. Thanks.

After completing the wiring and installation in a telecaster build, I experienced some heavy static discharge and "pops" when I touched the bridge, strings, etc. There was some slight pickup noise - but not unexpected nor bad. I checked grounds and other connections along with amp connection with a known good guitar, and didn't see the problem with other guitar. I've pulled the wiring package from the guitar, and ordered a prewired unit from another vendor. Was disappointed..... as I've used other Stewmac packages and components with no issues. I do like getting my parts from them.

Great Quality, Shy on Quantity

Don,t get me wrong the quality of the pots, switch, and jack is great. The kit comes with all good parts. However the wire... only enough to complete about half the job. I have tried several times to use the wire scarcely and just can not complete a wiring job with the only wire supplied. You will probably half to get more wire.

Best Option for Me

I have a '78 Hofner (Strat Body) that needed an upgrade. One of the pots was wobbly and both were functioning poorly. After reviewing what was available, the Tele Wiring Kit fit my needs best. Since I had single coil pickups I wanted to use the 250K pots from this kit. Also, I did not use the 3way switch as mine was a 4way with chicken head knob. The included wiring diagram got me pointed in the right direction and was very helpful. I also made a close examination of everything under the pickguard before any dis-assembly. If it was more complex, I would have drawn a schematic to be sure I knew where everything belonged. Once I got everything in place, I placed the pickguard into the body cavity but did not screw it down. I had to test it now and was quite nervous at this point. In the long run, everything worked as it should have. I am quite pleased with the results, no static or dropouts and a smooth action in both knobs. Thanks for having enough variety in your wiring kits to allow me to do this upgrade.

Good price!

A good kit for standard setup. The wiring sheet is handy, with wiring options. Well worth the money!
