Excellent and technical but I would still want someone looking over my shoulder the first time! Though Dan is right about practicing on some clunker bodies.

This book is excellent, really thorough for painting of all types, but needs a section of in depth oil finishing like tung oil etc. show all steps like you did for painting. oiling necks and such are really popular would really like to see this in an updated version. well worth the money.

This book has a lot of good info some I knew some I don't. But if it saves me time or helps me avoid making a mistake or 2 or 10 then it's money not just well spent but money made. Good book for any body that works with wood not just guitars.ALOHA & much Mahalos

More than for just guitars

I ordered the book to learn to apply guitar type finishes to the flutes I make. It has proven to be an excellent coverage of the entire finishing process including alternative finishes and techniques. I was not left with any questions unanswered and the quality of the book, the presentation and the results was of the highest quality.

I highly recommend this book and I would say to buy it first, before others in the same genre.

I am completely new to guitar finishing, although I have completed finishing projects on other small items. I found this book extremely helpful, very educating and straightforward to follow (even if the terminology was new to me. I would heartily recommend it.

Good reference book to keep on the shop shelf for common recipes. Would love to see more colour examples throughout.

I just finished reading this book from cover to cover and I've got to tell ya, there is a LOT of valuable information shared in this book! For myself, some of it was a little redundant. I would've liked more information on buffing technique. Outside of that, I think it's awesome!
