Spray Finishing Basics
You'll learn techniques for spraying lacquers, sealer and shellac; filling wood grain; sanding, rubbing and buffing a beautiful finish. Don MacRostie demonstrates professional spray equipment and finishes a guitar in custom-color lacquers. Dan Erlewine shows you how to get a great high gloss finish with simple aerosol lacquers, hand-rubbed compounds and a hand buffer. 115 minutes.
Sunburst Finishing
The art of applying a traditional sunburst. Don uses special color-matching boards to duplicate a vintage guitar finish. You'll learn how to make your own color boards, how to mix custom lacquer shaders, and how to spray sealers, toner coats and clear lacquer topcoats. Techniques for wet-sanding, rub-out and pedestal buffing are demonstrated, too. 50 minutes.

I just wanted to say that with the combined book and videos my finishing project (beginner) turned out better than I expected. It gave me much insight to future projects. |

I honestly don't know if I'd be building guitars without you guys (and Bob Benedetto who I found through you!). It's great to see people making the most of their profession, and boy do you! |
