The acoustic guitar arm bevel is an innovation introduced by luthier Grit Laskin in the 1980s. It adds playing comfort and visual interest, and has become a feature in many contemporary custom instruments. Veteran guitarmaker Kent Everett is a master of the construction technique. This enjoyable DVD, a class recorded in his Georgia workshop, demonstrates the complete procedure as an integral part of the guitarmaking process. Kent demystifies the installation and veneering of the bevel block, as well as the addition of handsomely flowing decorative purfling. His method has saved his students time and effort in their own builds.

113 minutes. For intermediate and advanced guitarmakers.

Kent Everett is a highly respected luthier and personable instructor, whose step by step methods have been refined through 30 years of guitarmaking and repair. Also from Kent: Voicing a Steel String Guitar DVD.

Lifesaver!

Priceless information and technique from a guy that has been around the block. Maybe not for beginners. Doesn't bore you to death with endless video footage of every repetitive process, but gives you ample info to get the job done. Mr. Everett's other videos have been very helpful to me as well.

The Transitional Bevel

I just received this DVD and found it to be very enlightening. All of the little queries I had were addressed. This DVD is a very worthwhile investment to anyone deciding to tackle a bevel. Once again i was astonished by the quick turn around of the Stewmac team. Keep up the good work.
