Peghead Bushing Reamers

Before you install press-fit tuner bushings, be sure they'll fit correctly, so your tuners will work efficiently. Too tight, and they can chip the peghead finish or crack the wood. Too loose, and they can rattle or fall out. Our custom reamers cut a clean, accurate counterbore for a professional job.

If you have a repair shop, you'll want the complete set on hand. Be ready for any tuning machine installation!

Designed for slow-speed use in your drill press, each steel reamer is 2-3/4" (69.85mm) overall length, with a 1/4"-diameter (6.35mm) pilot and two 1" (25.40mm) cutting flutes. The set of five includes sizes for popular guitar and mandolin press-fit tuner bushings.

The #2062 bushing reamer with .340" diameter is made for bushings on Waverly Guitar Tuning Machines.

The #2061 bushing reamer with .328" diameter is made for bushings on Waverly Mandolin Tuning Machines.

Highly recommend for mandolin tuner bushings

Our shop frequently is asked to repair binding mandolin tuner problems, usually in new mandolins from new builders or where modern .906" spacing replacement tuners have been installed on older US made mandolins with the almost impossible to find now .931" spacing. In both cases, plugging the tuner holes & redrilling using a sharp brad point drill and Mandolin Peghead Drill Jig to drill the holes, then installing the bushings after reaming with one of these reamers makes for a perfect and smooth tuning installation.
