It will cleanly drill holes in a headstock if you put a backing-board on BOTH sides. StewMac should offer a Brad-Point 10mm bit instead.
After using this bit a few times I was very dissapointed. I don't know if I got a bad one or what, but the bit seems to be very dull. I have had many issues with the bit grabbing the wood very aggressively causing tearing and chipouts, even when used properly in a drill press. I realize that this can be an issue with any drill bit, however I have never had the amount of trouble like I had using this bit. From now on, I will only use brad point bits and reamers. I'm not happy with this product at all. After ordering so many great products from StewMac over the years, this one really fell short of the quality I expect from you guys. My money would have been better spent on a new set of brad point bits, even if it's hard to find a true 10mm.
