Authentic look and improved tuning for vintage-style instruments Tired of fighting cantankerous old tuners but don't want to give up the vintage look? We have completely redesigned our Golden Age mandolin tuners! Under the direction of StewMac's Don MacRostie, renowned mandolin maker, we've brought back classic features of tuning machines from the pre-World War II era.
"Over the years we've tried every mandolin tuner under the sun. Of all the options, the Golden Age tuners have been the obvious choice for our mandolins." —Alex Rueb, Collings Guitars
The look of the old, the reliability of the new. The look is more authentic than ever, but close-tolerance specifications, nylon worm bearings, and 15:1 gear ratio make Golden Age tuners smoother and more efficient than vintage machines ever were. Two optional relic finishes duplicate that "well-played" patina that makes most other modern tuners look johnny-come-lately on a vintage or reproduction instrument. The distinctive Loar-shape steel baseplates even have the same footprint and engraving as 1920s originals.
The details are 1920s too: • Old-style string post shape • Square worm supports • Straight-slot worm gear screws • Roundhead straight-slot mounting screws • Removable black or ivoroid knobs with vintage shape
Each set includes 4-left / 4-right tuners with mounting screws and press-fit peghead bushings.

To be sure these tuners fit your instrument, compare your existing machines and peghole dimensions to our listed specs to help determine the best replacement.
