Specs
Waverly tuners feature old style tapered 1/4"-diameter string posts and the press-fit brass hex bushings fit 11/32"-diameter pegholes. Screws included.

With Waverly tuners, your guitar plays in tune and stays in tune. Waverly's patented design combines stainless steel with bronze to create smooth, non-slip tuning. The perfect replacement tuners for valued instruments, Waverly machines are handmade to fit precisely without drilling on older Martin and Gibson guitars. Manufacturers such as C.F. Martin, Gibson, Collings, Santa Cruz, Huss & Dalton, Sams, and Bourgeois choose Waverlys for their finest instruments.

Whether you're fitting a solid-peghead or slotted-peghead guitar, there are Waverly models to fit.

Conversion peghead bushings are available for installing Waverly tuning machines in larger diameter 3/8" diameter (Grover, Gotoh, Schaller, etc.) pegholes.

Direct replacement design: No additional mounting holes to drill when replacing similar vintage machines on older Martin & Gibson guitars.

More efficient operation & more precise tuning: 16:1 gear ratio. Patented worm tension bushing eliminates looseness.

Long life with less wear: Stainless steel worm gears have twin bushings. String post gears are machined from bronze alloy; more durable than brass.

Authentic knobs and string posts: Knobs are genuine ebony. Old style tapered string posts are nickel or gold-plated brass.

Perfect upgrade

Purchased these to upgrade the open back tuners that came on a Martin guitar. Direct fit and install was very easy. Noticed that a few of the individual tuners were at first hard to turn, but this is no longer an issue. The guitar is staying in tune more consistently. Waverly Tuners are worth the extra money.

Just love these tuners

I can't say enough good things about Waverly tuners. They are so unbelievably smooth & precise that no other machines even approach them. I particularly like these ebony knobs cause wood just feels great to my fingers, but you can't go wrong with any set. These tuners also have the best warranty and support of any product anywhere... I'm hooked & can't go back; I just can't see using any other brand.

Recent problems

We've been installing Waverlys on our guitars for years, choosing them for their fine finish, attractive appearance and smooth action.

However, we've had some excessively-hard-to-turn-knob problems lately which have caused us to return 2 sets so far. These were promptly and cheerfully replaced to S-M's credit.

The problem may have been our not drilling the post hole and grommet hole perfectly concentric to each other (forcing the post to jam against the wall of the post hole)--or it could have been the excessively large post-hole drilled into the tuner plate, potentially causing the worm and sun gears to clash. We've since eliminated the former potential cause by purchasing and strictly drilling the grommet hole with the appropriate Stewmac Peghead Bushing Reamer. We would highly recommend that to any Waverly user--but also urge Waverly to inspect the tolerances of the post holes in their tuner plates. We hope to continue using Waverlys in the future.

Great Gears for my Barton Lane Guitars!

I started The Barton Lane Guitar Company about a year ago and have used these gears on my guitars exclusively! They stay in tune like no other and are not very hard to install. I highly recommend these gears. -loren barton

Elegant and precise

Waverlys are a precision tuner. They are well made, very accurate, and have zero backlash. I use them on most of my high end guitars.
