I bought these to replace a disintegrated set of tuners on a 1958 National Resosonic. They just dropped into place, and I didn't have to install the ferrels, as these tuners fit exactly. Only thing that detracts from the install is that the new tuners look too new - I'll have to stain the plastic to "age" them.
I had been given a 1949 Supro lap steel that was trashed both electronically and mechanically. After a quick search here...I found the EXACT parts I needed to restore my newest toy to 100% playing status. Thanks Stewart MacDonald for always being here with the right parts.
These 3 on a plate tuners swapped right out with the old tired tuners from early 60's melody maker. Hassle free and They work great. Boom.
I ordered these for my 1950 Supro lap-steel as the original buttons crumbled. Decided to replace the whole tuner set rather than just new buttons.
The tuners look just like the original Klusons and fit perfectly.
I decided to retain the original bushes as they were fine, and just used some copper grease as I installed the new tuners. Retained original screws also.
I am in the process of ageing the buttons and tuner bodies just so they look the biz. Very pleased and recommend these highly. Price reasonable too.
I purchased these tuners for my 1965 Gibson LG1 to replace the OEM tuners that were badly tarnished, hard to turn, and unstable holding pitch. While the new tuners fit perfectly, I was dissapointed that they aren't any easier to turn and don't hold pitch any better than the old ones.
As a result, I'm taking them off of the guitar - just ordered a set of Kluson wafflebacks from Stew Mac. I would have liked to return this item but unfortunately replaced the white plastic buttons with ivoroid ones before mounting them.
I've ordered two sets of these, to replace stuck or bent originals on a couple of old SGs. I didn't use the included bushings or screws; these were an exact fit into the old bushings, and the screw holes were also perfectly spaced. Nice smooth action, and they hold a tune.
These work great for my '65 Stella guitar. They fit perfectly with no alteration and my guitar stays in tune with true harmonic pitch. They look
nice without being cumbersome or heavy. I have used them for a month and they are excellent. I would buy the same ones again if I ever get a second guitar that these tuners would fit.
I used these tuners on a customer's 40 year old Gibson LG1. The original tuners were just plain painful to turn. The new machines fit perfectly. I re-used the original tuner grommets. I aged the machines to match the vintage of the Gibson by sanding off the casting lines on the buttons, applying a bit of brown shoe polish, sanding a bit on the plated metal areas and then soaking in Dr Pepper for a few minutes. Added a bit of amber shellac 'splatter' and they looked nice and vintage, to match the guitar.
Great for what they are. Used in a 70's Epi repair job & they work fine for the application.
I received a Yamaha OM style guitar for repair. It needed new tuners. After taking measurements to ensure fit. I ordered these. The spacing was dead on. The Yamaha tuner holes were a little large but that was easily taken care of.
