I have a 2000 Les Paul Special that came with "bone-heads" as I call them (AKA "Keystones") and just rescued a mangled '72 LP Deluxe from bad mods gone awry, both have these Grovers in nickel. I saw these, in gold of course, on a LP Custom and dug the Keystone shaped knob. Also Stew-Mac has the good taste to offer them in nickel as well as chrome and gold (chrome on a US made guitar should be illegal), unlike other vendors. I've loved the feel of these since my neighbor loaned me her then battered old Martin when I was 10 (a sweet and generous lady!!) I like to adjust the feel to a somewhat loosey-goosey 60's feel with the screw in the knob, which gives you a bit more backlash, but who cares when we always tune upward anyway? Stability, great feel and groovy timeless look - who could want more? Excellent product - thanks again, Stew-mac!
I used this tuning pegs to restore a Yamaha SG-45 (1972) that suffered a crappy restoration years ago, now it looks better than new keeping that vintage look.
