Grover Full-size Locking Tuning Machines

Theses tuners are absolutely top quality. The automatic locking of the string works really great. The ratio of the tuners makes it possible the fine tune to the perfect tone. My headstock is thin so the tuner shafts stick up a bit more than a normal tuner so if you have a guitar with a headstock that needs the string to be attached to the tuner near the face of the headstock these tuners could give you problem.

I Like these tuners a little better than the older thumbwheel lockers. They put less stress on the edge of the string, producing less chance of breakage.

These are a brilliant locking tuner, nice and solid. Excellent high polish solid chrome plating. They are heavy by feel, so you have confidence in no movement when string is loaded, easy string insert and lock as you wind design. No slip and excellent geared motion. I recommend these to anyone

The Orig. Grovers on my 335 were shot and leaking and I actually no longer trusted Grovers, but since they retrofit perfectly, I decided to try the locking tuners, assuming they'd be of higher quality. I've had them on for 2 years and am ordering a set for my other 335 even though the tuners are in fine condition. These lockers string so easy and stay in tune so well that it's well worth the swap.

On my 2009 Gibson Les Paul Studio, there were no peghole modifications needed. it fits into the existing holes perfectly. All I needed to do was to drill new holes for the grub screws. They look great, feel great and more importantly, work great.

The machine heads are fantastic and great quality. Had to drill new holes for the grub screws. had them mounted in less than an hour. The posts are longer than standard posts, but the locking mechanism works well.

I just finished replacing the tuners on my Sheraton II with these locking tuners. I have them on my Epiphone Les Paul Tribute as standard feature. Easy change - less than 1 hour. You will need a 10 mm deep socket & small Phillips screw driver. The new screws provide with tuners were thinner than the Grovers that came with the guitar. I reused the original screws. I also reused the same strings. Now gig ready!

These tuning machines are beyond great...I replaced the stock Gibson Deluxe tuners on my Les Paul Studio and it was a huge improvement. These are much more precise, with really smooth turns and no backlash at all (only 1 of the tuners in the package has a minimum amount of backlash when tuning the string down). String replacement is also quicker with these tuners because you won't need to make ties on the strings to avoid them from slipping and won't need to turn the string around the post more than once (even on the high E string) so say goodbye to the peg winder.

Speaking of the post height, it might be an issue for some players because they're indeed very tall, but in my case it doesn't bother me at all, just be sure to check out the technical drawing in the specs section before buying. Another aspect that might bother aesthetic freaks (not me) although it's not a big deal, is that the gold tuners don't quite match the gold Gibson hardware (at least in my guitar), these tuners are just a little bit brighter, it's a very very subtle difference but wanted to let you know. Instructions supplied are pretty difficult to figure out just by reading them but you will understand how to use the tuners after changing a couple of strings. Pricing is pretty good for all of the benefits...5 stars!
