Golden Age tuners are the rebirth of popular early 20th Century tuning machine designs, featuring simple steel plates and open gears. Replacements for the originals have long been sought by collectors and repairmen, to restore older guitars and improve their tuning. Our special Relic nickel-finished versions complement vintage hardware and add an authentic look to reproduction guitars.

Thank God! No more need for pliers to tune a 40s LGO

I have yanked plenty of the old 3 on a plate open gear tuners when "collector's items" were just used guitars. So did everyone else. Now people want an original look. My LGO has plier marks on the buttons, it is that hard to turn the originals. These are markedly improved in performance to make an understatement. These look right, and work right, so there is not much more to ask for. Those old all mahogany guitars open up nicely after 70 years, and sound nice, and now this one has nice correct tuners on it. I wish it was mine, but I already have a 1942 with a 1965 neck, but it has the same problems with poor tuning machine performance. These will fix that one too! Hooray! Love'em!
'Tis about time! Mucho improveddo re me fa so la ti do (repeat). Yep they're still in tune, and I bend strings, among other things. Reischel's, and Waverly's rank excellent. These are very good though. The aged look is worth the extra $$$ with the time=money equation what it is. I'll shoot photos of my LGO undergoing surgery soon and use those. I am replacing a brace, adding a back strip, replacing the tuners, and lowering the action adding a tusq saddle.
