Grover 18:1 Sta-Tite Slotted Peghead Guitar Machines

I bought these based on other reviews and suggestions at the Acoustic Guitar Forum site, for my Recording King ROS-06. They were a perfect fit (I did reuse the original screws, as suggested) and work perfectly. A significant improvement in tuning and intonation, and they look classier, too.

These tuners are as good as they get. They compare to the ones that are far more expensive in both appearance and functionality.

Probably the nicest tuner I have ever used. I bought these for a lapsteel project because the vintage look. I will continue to purchase these tuners because of their high quality, no slop, and precision.

I bought these tuners to upgrade the poor quality tuners that came with my new Wechter TO8418 slot head. I thought it’d pretty much be a straight-forward replacement but the Sta-Tite 1/4” diam shaft is a slightly larger diameter than the Wechter tuners, so wouldn’t fit into the existing bushings. With the help of the knowledgeable Stew-Mac staff, I ordered the #3458 10mm nickel bushings for 1/4" shafts, received them today, and just finished the installation that involved re-drilling (enlarging) the headstock holes to accommodate the new bushings and these tuners are great. Well made, smooth and precise at an excellent price. As always, Stew-Mac provided great service and information.

These tuners are an excellent value. One (of the 6) I ordered recently had a bit more lash than I would have liked, but this dosen't seem to effect tuning. You can change out buttons fairly easily. I used Stew Mac's ebony buttons which worked great.

I'd been commissioned to make a 12 fret 000 in Cocobolo and German spruce and with quite a lot of inlay so I obviously wanted quality tuners for it. I was not disappointed with these Grovers. They are beautifully made and have a superb finish to them and I know that they are going to look the business on this guitar. I'll certainly be using them again. I'll happily post a photo of them on the finished instrument when ready.

Really great value competitive with Waverley's which I have and like but the Grovers will provide a great value and performance for many of my customers.

I put Grover tuners on ALL my guitars. This is my first one with a slotted headstock. As always, the Grovers tune accuratley and are not too tight nor too loose! Shipping from Stew-Mac was fast and accurate!

I have only bought these tuners, but I have tinkered around with many things in my life (I am 54 yers old)machineing, enginering, machinical things that always work well. These things from grover are built very well and priced nice.> take note to the detail in the nobs, they are hand finished on the cast seams.
