I've been building dulcimers for over 33 years. for the past 20+ years I have been using these tuners on all my dulcimers. I have never had problems with them, even on ones that have been in use for those 20+ years. I put a lot of effort building a top notch instrument and need a top notch tuner that I can count on. I don't mind telling my customers these are the best dulcimer tuners available.
5 stars for sure! I installed these on my last two dulcimer builds and they look great. Although they are more expensive than most tuners they are very high quality and turn with ease. they look great with the ebony knobs that StewMac sells.
Your planetary dulcimer tuning pegs were the perfect fit and, most important, the perfect quality. They look great and work perfectly.
I installed these pegs on my Tar (a traditional music instrument of Azerbaijan and Iran) and I loved them. I am still installing these pegs on my students instruments. thanks to Stewmac. I wish Stewmac mangers were open to new proposals like this and they could design a proper peg for Azeri instruments like Tar, Kamancha, Qopuz. As you see in the picture I had to modify the peg head in order to match with the original look of Tar.
After years of offering a variety of pegs as options on my dulcimers, I now only use your Five-Star Dulcimer Tuning Pegs. With all the work that goes into making the instrument, why use anything but the best for tuners ?
My first instrument build, an Appalachian dulcimer using Tasmanian timbers and your dulcimer pegs are perfect. It's great to be able to get the RIGHT gear - hard to find down-under.
