Carbon Fiber Neck Rods

Used these a lot over the years, just built myself a 5 string bass and installed 4 of these in the neck...solid as a rock and a great consistent tone over the entire neck. I think a two way truss rod is crucial when using these rods as it can stiffen a neck so much...you can't get the relief you want from string pull alone.

This is the first time I've used these Carbon fiber rods. They work well, and fit nicely, and allow me to make a very thin but very strong/stiff neck. In the photo you can see them installed along with a two way adjustable truss rod, in my son’s guitar which he orders very strong so that he could string it with thick strings for playing hard rock.

I switched to cedar for the necks of my electric guitars. The combination of a spoke nut hot rod and carbon reinforcement is very lightweight, strong and extremely stable.

I put a pair of carbon fiber rods, and a dual action Hot Rod, in all my necks. Stew Mac's carbon fiber is as good as any I've used. I'd give a five star rating, if the price were more reasonable.

Excellent rods. They really helped me reinforced a 5-stringed bass neck. Rods are very stiff and extremely light weighted.

The section of these rod is not rectangular: on each of the narrow sides there is a seam protruding some. To seat it well on a rectangular channell, you have to scrape those sides flat; not fun on carbon fiber...

I've used these a number of times and since I have the custom router bit, I continue to use them. They work well, and fit nicely. You can really see how much stiffer the neck is with these installed. In the photo you can see them installed along with a two way adjustable truss rod in a blank for a headless neck.
