The truss rod nut did exactly what I needed to do. After having extracted the old stripped nut from a used Squier Strat (that was over-tightened), I could reassemble the instrument easily. Inexpensive, quality part, and quick delivery.
I really like this truss rod nut so I included it in one of my own guitar designs.
I ordered this for a MIM Strat, but it doesn't fit- apparently it only fits made in USA Fenders. The description "as used by Fender after 1971" is a little misleading.
It's a nice little thing, the ice on the cake in a 70's big headstock strat project. It could be better if it was compatible with Hot-Rod truss rod.
I got one in my workshop electric bass, with bullet damage, but ventured to buy the bullet truss rod to see if it would, but it did not work, yet it is noted that the material is quite good.
I bought a 72 Strat neck which needed a new nut. I ordered one from Stew Mac and a couple of days later it was here. It fit and worked well.
I was looking to replace a vintage bullet style truss rod with a direct replacement. This is a direct replacement, however, you can tell the difference. You can see the machining at the tip. Whereas on the original it's a smooth chrome finish.
Not that it doesn't do the job... it does. However I think I was expecting a direct replacement down to the Chrome finish.
It seems to work excellently on my USA FENDER TELECASTER. I UNFORTUNATELLY HAD TO BLOW THE WALNUT THAT WAS COVERING IT. I stripped the original rod, because I worked too heavy on it; the key, in fact, wouldn't fit more than a pair of mm down, and through the walnut too!?! This one goes at least good 5 mm down, which assures you enough grip to scratch your neck, once in a while! I use o.11 gauge strings!
I wasn't sure if this would fit my Brownsville V when I ordered it, but was pleasantly surprised with the ease this went on with! Much better quality than the original!
