Slotted Nut Hot Rod

love this rod. Easy to install and work's great. This is my preferred choice.

I use these truss rods in every guitar i build. They are well constructed, strong and smooth. It doesnt take more than a slight turn to make a big difference.

When I'm feeling lazy and don't want to make a rod from scratch or the application seems to call for a double acting rod, I always choose a Hot Rod from Stew Mac. I've never had a problem with them and they are a snap to install.

The Hot Rod is not adjustable. You will need to modify some neck designs in order to fit the truss rod. For a 1 piece tele maple neck for example, you'll have to route a longer channel covering the entire length of the heel in order to fit the rod. The channel will have to go further towards the head as well, altering the design.

If covering with a fingerboard, the alterations aren't esthetically noticeable. Otherwise, the Hot Rod is pretty well built and installs easily on a straight channel. It also requires less maintenance than a single action. Just make sure it fits your project's specs and you're good to go!

These Hot Rod two-way truss rods work just fine. They're easy enough to install. The screw is a bit offset from center, and can be hard to get in the hole when installing the rod. I've cracked one neck this way. However, if you're careful, it's straightforward. They work great.

Not what I expected. Please look carefully before you purchase. These are not like other truss rods.
