Hex Truss Rod Wrenches

I was working on an old Speed Demon hollowbody and couldn't find any other tool that would work to adjust the truss rod. A regular socket wouldn't fit in the tight space and forget using a wrench in there. I slid it on the old 5/16" hex head and it fit like a glove. A few turns later and the neck is straight again for the first time in decades.

They just take up a lot of space when not in use but work very well

I used this to adjust the truss rod on a 1961 Gibson I recently acquired. The nut was frozen from decades of sitting. I had tried oil and my old worn wrench and couldn't budge it. The new wrench worked instantly.

This is a professional quality tool. I have a cheap one and its a Dollar Store quality compared to the StewMac one.

I needed a truss rod wrench for a couple of Gibson guitars I purchased and although I actually wanted a T type, I am happy now that I purchased this one. It has a sure grip but with a good mechanic's feel, I feel more in control of the tension applied than if there was more torque available. Also, the socket walls are thin enough to get a good purchase on the nut in a tight space. The perfect tool for the job!

The tool worked well. The long shaft takes the handle out of the way of the headstock so there's little to no chance that you'll damage the guitar or scrape your knuckles. Made the adjustment very easy.

I have several of these - they're perfect. I keep the small one in my case for travel/gigs, and use these full-sized ones on my repair bench. They fit perfectly - they're narrow enough to fit in most truss rod access holes.
