Trying to construct a guitar without accurate templates is an invitation for trouble. Luthier John Bogdanovich has prepared these helpful templates to accompany his excellent book Classical Guitar Making. Sized for building a nylon-string concert guitar and CNC machined for accuracy, they're made of sturdy transparent acrylic to allow easy visual orientation on the woodgrain. Scribed centerlines assure accurate positioning.
Classical Guitar Templates includes:
Plantilla template (body profile)
Use this template to create symmetrical molds and fixtures for assembling the guitar. The .110" thick
transparent acrylic allows easy visual orientation on the woodgrain and for laying out the soundboard
and back. Registration holes match corresponding holes in the fingerboard template, a handy feature
for accurate alignment during construction.
Bridge plate template
Includes registration holes that match those in the plantilla template, for precise positioning. Template
is .105" thick.
Headstock and fingerboard templates
.212" thick so they can be used with a router. Attach with double-stick tape.
These Classical Guitar Templates are included in a Classical Guitar Making Book, Plans, and Templates Set. This amazing money-saving set will feed your mind and guide your hand in the construction of a fan-braced nylon-string concert guitar!
