Acoustic Neck Joint Routing Templates

Using the documentation I built a jig for cutting the neck joint with these templates. It worked really well. As it was my first joint like this and nervous of marking the wood I used clamps with rubber protectors that moved. I then used soft wood blocks screwed accros the neck and around the body and sound hole into the jig. Costly but work well

These templates work well after a bit of tweaking. You need to use a spacer for the "tail". If not it flexes too much. Again, they work well, but I would encourage anyone to practice a lot on scraps. I built a jig that adjusts to the angle of the body so you can cut a complimentary angle in the neck joint. Works well. These are a bit pricy, but they work.

This was one of the hardest jobs for me to do, neck re-alignment / removal for a customer. These neck joint routing templates take all of the guesswork right out of the job! After making the jig exactly like the one from the StewMac instructions I made two matching dovetail joints for projects in my shop. In a matter of minutes I had exactly matching & perfect fitting joints for each end. Really nice templates here, little pricey for plastic but what a great job it did. I made a jig like the one in Stew's instructions and it made a matching dovetail that fit right!
