Router Bit for Hot Rod Truss Rods

This blade worked fine and cut my solid rosewood neck great... except that I tried to run it through the router table the wrong way. I had a fake maple skunk stripe on the back, and to keep consistent with which edge was against the fence, I ran it backwards. Don't recommend that. Otherwise, great.

Perfect bit for the job. Two passes and I had my channel cut perfectly for the Hot Rod, and it sits extremely well in it. Like everyone has said, this bit is INCREDIBLY sharp. Be careful when removing the plastic over the tip of it. Looking forward to using this on future projects!

There are really only two kinds of tools, quality ones and cheapo ones. These are quality and last as long as any long lasting bits I've used. No bits last forever. If I had to guess, I'd guess you could use this 50 times before you really had to get another...

Cuts a clean slot. Cutting a truss rod slot is not "rocket science", but with this bit there are no worries about fit with the Hot Rod Truss Rods.

I use this for routing the truss rod slot and for cutting the edges of my bridge to the correct thickness.

Sharp as hell. Does the job.

The right tool for stewMac's T rods. I wouldn't want to use anything else. A perfect fit every time!

I purchased this for my first guitar build (still in progress). I originally contemplated just using a basic 1/4" bit or using two passes of a smaller bit. Then I thought I might as well do it the proper way to reduce risk for error. This bit made an extremely clean slot in my maple neck blank and it fits my Hot Rod perfectly, no rattle. The gap between the cutter blades also helped me line it up along the center line. I'm hoping I get to use this on many more guitar necks, and maybe some other projects as well.

Bit was just the thing for the hot rod. Made a good groove that the truss rod fit well into.
