Precision Router Base

As a german engineer I guess that I'm a little choosy. But this little piece of a tool is the best what I found in the United States. It is excellent manufactured and very simple to use. The reason that I didn't give it five stars are the accessories. The edge guide is barely to use and the pump is a joke.

I really need and use this tool and will retro fit parts or order another.
Where the bottom screws insert into the adjusting height screws is weak.
The wrong pressure on the base will cause(in my case) both guide screws to snap at the base at almost exactly the point where the bottom mount screws end in the bore out section.

Hollowing out that screw to mount it to the base makes it VERY weak.

Now I have to buy another or figure something else out.

This is a necessary buy

Great tool, it makes my Dremel as a little route to do many works like inlays and binding. Very versatile and useful.

This is a great little set up. Useful for so many things besides inlay work like pocketing braces into linings. Don't know how I got along without one.

I had a tricky job to drop a rosette into a guitar that didn't have one. I created a jig in the guitar and the StewMac rosette cutter and precision router base dropped right in and made a perfect cut. I used the fine adjust to shave a little more for a great fit. This would not have been possible with Dremel's wobbly router base.

You know you're a luthier when you crack a huge smile every time you reach for a tool like this. Indispensable in my shop, a necessity for the custom builder.

It is a fine piece of design. Much better than the Dremel plastic router fitting. It is a piece of machinery. I could just look at it and appreciate the design and production values. It's metal, its got brass knurled adjusters. It is a precision build. If you are a tool junkie, just buy one to admire. Get the depth guide part as well. Put it all together and contemplate old world values. By the the way, it is rigid in operation and produces excellent slots and routes. Just get one. Whoever designed this could have cut a lot of corners. Thank you for not doing that!

Nice hardware. Very good for inlays. Inlays take practice and can be frustrating, but this tool is a great help.

Much better than a stock Dremel-Base. A must for inlays.
