The ball-bearing guide matches the cutting diameter, and the long shank allows multiple-pass routing for deep cavities.

The 1/2" diameter bit is recommended for most of your routing chores. Use the 3/8" cutter only for routing corners that need the tighter radius.

Sold individually or SAVE when you buy the set of both router bits.

Shank diameter: 1/4" (6.35mm)
Cutting height: 1/2" (12.7mm)

A heat-resistant sleeve (not shown) holds the bearing in position. We recommend stacking an extra bearing on the shank for deep cavities, and use the 3/8" bit only for routing corners.

Tip: We recommend that you change the position of stacked bearings on the router bit's shank every time your re-chuck in the bit into your router. This will greatly extend the life of the bearings and reduces the risk of a bearing "blow-out."

Worked like a charm!

As always, shipped super fast! The bit along with the bridge template made this job a breeze (add a few extra bearings while your at it to your order as they come in handy as your rout deeper). Attached is the initial rout for the Tremolo Bridge from StewMac, which I will send a review on once job is complete! Thanks SM!

almost perfect

they work great! but for some places I had to route, a 3/8" deep would've been better!

Router 3/8 bit with bearing

The story is that I add purchase a télécaster Ash body and the neck pocket was to shallow by 1/16 to fit a standard neck. So I purchace the 3/8 bit to match the radius of the pocket corners. Did a test run on a scrap piece of wood, , then use a neck templare to do the routing,. This bit is of best quality and the finish was perfect, in fitted the neck in the pocket and all was level. Thanks to SM for there good tools and tips.

Ok but wear out quick

this bit are ok for if you dont have alot of carving to do. They work great at first but become dull quickly. Especially in hardwood

Great bits

These are the best routing bits I have in my shop. They slice out pickup cavaties with maximum precision. I just wish the shanks were longer for cutting body shapes along a template.

Ball Bearing Router Bits

Super. Daniel G Luthier
