It works great. Simple yet effective. If there was one constructive comment, it would be to make a version that has a concave end, to somewhat match different fret radii. But as is, works great.
It doesn't look like it can, but this is on my top 3 tool when it comes to fret dressing. Must have! One of the best bang for the bucks.
Works good for all kinds of sanding applications. I use them a lot for fret dressing, saddle work, nut work, and refinishing. I sand down the ends for different angles and to shape for fret dressing.- MAtt Dreher
I have 14 of these around the shop. Absolutely great. I love it and it's the best tool I ever bought from Steward-MacDonald. :D
Does a good job. Description says you can file a notch in the end to conform to the crown of the fret. Would be better if they were sold with a groove in them just like the fret files. As cheap as it is there could be a set for narrow, medium and wide for $10 to $15. Would be worth it.
awesome tool, compresses so you can change the belts easily, gets in tough places.. very cool.
I love these sanding sticks. You can get all around the fret easily. No more using your fingernail and plain sandpaper to get the edges. A lot more control with these sticks. I have 4 of them. It's a great price too.
Very cool!!! It´s very easy to dress the frets with this stick.
It's a sound idea and worked great after I made up my own belts with more flexible paper. The paper that comes with it is way to stiff for small Banjo frets. I used the new cloth paper from S.M.
Just not as good as real fret dressers
