The Fret Beveling File is the fast, accurate way to put a uniform 35° bevel on fret ends after installing new frets. With a quick, smooth motion, this file angles the fret ends and makes them ready for fret dressing and polishing. Available in either 3-3/4" or 7-1/2" filing lengths.

This 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" block (two lengths are available) holds a removable fine-tooth flat file at the proper 35° angle to bevel all the fret ends along the edge of the fingerboard. The block is made of low-friction material for smooth, easy filing. The 3-3/4" model is for short fingerboards (mandolins, for example), and for spot-filing partial refrets. It's also useful for working on used instruments with necks that aren't straight.
Works on stainless frets, too!
All of our tools are suitable for use on stainless-steel fretwire, with the exception of our Fret Tang Nippers and Fret Cutters. Modern stainless-steel fretwire is known to be harder than the traditional nickel-silver blends, but our own shop experience indicates the wire does not cause premature wear of files or sandpapers.

Fret Beveling Files

A great tool, does exactly what it says it'll do. Watch for filings that stick to the Teflon surface as they can scratch the frets if you don't clear them off after a few strokes. Other than that a great tool.

This is good

I like this tool I use it a lot. I actually like the fact its made of plastic as it slides really nicely its a good idea, I have used them homemade out of wood but these feel great...

Expensive but a handy tool

Nice tool and works very well.

Good in theory, not so good in practice.

Because of the fret radius, it is easy for the file to slide off the ends and onto the frets and damaging them, creating extra levelling/dressing work.

Great tool

This is a great file, though I would like to see one with a 90 degree angle file on the opposite side.

Fret Bevel

This little tool is a must for getting that perfect angle on your fret ends. Easy to use and does a super job! I've got to get the next size up 7 1/2.

Pricey, but worth it

I bought the 7 1/2" part, and while I can't see where all the money is in the thing, I gotta say it works like a charm.

3-3/4" length

I bought just the short one... mostly because the longer one was out of stock. But no need, the shorter one worked fine for the entire fretboard on a new build project.

This file rocks...

This fret end file works like a charm. I just did a set of stainless frets. I had absolutely no problems. Yes, it's kinda pricey, but the amount of labor it saved me made it well worth the expense.

The fret beveling files worked perfectly

The dry heat from this winter caused one of my acoustic guitar necks to shrink a enough to cause the frets to feel sharp when playing. I was going to take it to a shop and discovered the fret beveling file. It cost less then taking it to the shop and I have it for future uses. It is virtually impossible to damage your guitar so I recommend it to anyone who has this problem and wants to save money.
