Install a rubberized ceramic fret polishing wheel and mandrel, and lightly groove the edge of the wheel with a small round file. The 36" (914.40mm) long Flex Shaft has a slim handpiece that gives you fingertip control for fine detail work, carving, light routing, engraving, and lots of other jobs, too. It's more comfortable to hold than the heavier Dremel tool, and gets into tighter areas.
Unscrew the threaded plastic collar on your Dremel tool's housing, and move the Dremel's 1/8" (3.18mm) collet to the Flex Shaft handpiece before installing.
Works on stainless frets, too! All of our tools are suitable for use on stainless-steel fretwire, with the exception of our Fret Tang Nippers and Fret Cutters. Modern stainless-steel fretwire is known to be harder than the traditional nickel-silver blends, but our own shop experience indicates the wire does not cause premature wear of files or sandpapers.
