Touch-up Spray Gun

As this is my first spray gun and have just started spray finishing guitars, I am not really in a position to provide an objective review. However, the touch-up gun seems to work well.

It's nothing fancy but does the trick.
Easy to operate, and actualy fully adequate for spraying entire instruments too, unless you are doing large numbers.

I think this is an absolutely superb little gun. I'm a relative novice & got professional results on the 1st project I used it on. Maybe the nitrocellulose is just easy to use? Hard to mess up with this kind of gear. Its easy to set up, use, & to clean. Color me satisfied.

I think that naming this sprayer a "touch up" spray gun is a little misleading. I understand that the name is based on the container size, but I use this sprayer to spray nitrocellulose lacquer clear coat finishes on necks and bodies all the time, and one full container of lacquer will spray a lot more than one guitar body. I have been amazed from the very first use at how great this sprayer works. One pass yields such a beautiful thick and perfectly clear coating that the urge to keep spraying too long and produce runs is virtually eliminated. Doesn't take very many coats to build up a super thick totally wet looking gloss finish. I have several maple necks that I am upgrading to a thick glossed amber finish. This sprayer makes me look like a total freakin' pro! and it makes my guitars look very vintage. But the best part is how the finish feels to the touch. This is a total quality sprayer, just like everything else that I have purchased from StewMac... Total quality. If you don't like it you're probably doing it wrong, so go back and read the directions :) Used the touch up spray gun to amber gloss this neck. Total eye candy to my eyes... Thanks StewMac!

These tools together, if maintained and used properly. You can finish furniture, cars, boats, instruments,and I bought a touch up gun for my wife's spray tanning business. Anybody can use it with a little practice. Just don't leave it dirty.

The spray gun works as advertised. Only complaint is the air valve is not reliable. You need to carry all parts, not just the gaskets.

I have to say that this little one is a fairly good spraygun for spraying little things like headstocks or sunburst like colors. Though it isn't a very expensive gun it is not always reliable. This is my third one in 1 1/2 year and fortunately Stewmac gave me a new one without any problem. They give a great service and fast delivery on any of their products.
