High gloss finishes without swirl marks
Fits variable-speed hand drills

Your finishes can have a more professional look when you use these fiber-free foam buffing pads. They're perfect for applying polishing compounds with your power buffer or variable-speed hand drill.

Foam polishing pads are perfect for applying polishing compounds, like our ColorTone Polishing Compounds. The gentle polishing action helps avoid swirl marks, fine scratches and burn-through, leaving a beautiful mirror-gloss surface.

For the small shop or casual builder, this is a great way to get factory-quality finishes without tedious hand polishing or expensive buffing equipment. Larger well-equipped shops find foam pads handy for getting into tight areas for fast spot refinishing, too. Each pad has a 1/4" arbor—you can use it in a drill press or variable-speed hand drill.

"Hourglass and cone-shaped pads are great for getting into guitar cutaways and hard-to-reach contours. I find a use for them all!"
—Erick Coleman, repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Important: A separate pad should be used for each grade of polishing compound, to avoid adding scratches to the finish. Apply the compounds in sequence, from coarse to fine grades.

5 1/2 inch diameter pad

The big ones work good. I'm gonna have to try the smaller type now. These are a great way to achieve a brilliant shine without a pro buffing setup.

Thanks for these!

I bought 4 of each shape and use them as advised, refinish jobs gone up a few notches :) Tend to wear out a bit quick for my liking but cannot do without them.

Works well

When using this foam pad remember to remove any thing that might snag it (volumes/tone pots) and cover and hardware post holes. The compounds can quickly be built up in these holes. As far as use, functionality and results I give them a good grade. Some areas are subject to better results with good old elbow grease.

Buffing Pad

The foam polishing pads from Stewmac do a great job in removing scratches and developing a deep shine. I've used other buffers and had okay results, but these pads have finally delivered the look I was after. I can't compare them to an actual buffing wheel, but one thing is sure, you won't melt your nitro.

Realistic Relic

My Vintage brand Icon distressed satin finish Tele copy buffed up with just the swirl remover within seconds. The unrealistic satin finish went to a believable gloss. The pads worked great!

Size matters!!

These new sizes really make a big difference, mainly because they now fit inside of the Stewmac Colortone rubbing compound tubs. The corner polishing pad is great for corners, namely between the neck and body. Highly recommended. Be sure to use only one pad per Colortone rubbing compound tub. Don't cross mix.

Buffing made easy.

All you need is one of these, a drill, and some ColorTone Polishing Compound, and get ready for the shine. (just to be clear one pad per compound grit)
