Awesome router bit for the job i also found this to work well for the 6 mm pearl dots FOR FRET BOARD PLACE MARKERS instead of searching for the right brad point drill bits this tool works like a charm it's a bit tight but you can use a drill bit to nick off the edges if need be. 0.225'' works out to a 1/4 inch drill bit . I had to purchase a second bit as my first first one was locked in the collet of my router and I chipped it trying to get it out. The bit worked nicely over the years but the collet didn't. The Stew Mac bit is very nice and I'd recommend it to anybody using hot rod truss rods as it fits them nicely.

This bit cuts a perfect channel for hot r truss rods to fit in. Probably because that is what it is made to do. Either way the bit is very sharp and cuts through mahogany with ease.

I can not see nothing wrong with this Hot Rod Truss Rod routing bit except that the protective coating of glue that is put on the tip of the router bit. When I got my newly purchased router bit in the mail my old man being the handy tool expert he is garbed the protective glue coating, pulled and sliced open his thumb pretty deep. I thought it was kind of funny. Other then all that It does what it says it does. Very Happy.
