Notched Straightedge
Now available for bass! Developed in our shop, the notched straightedge has become a standard for evaluating fretboards. The notches fit right over the frets so you can check the straightness of the fretboard itself, without the interference of worn or badly-seated frets.

This straightedge is 18" x 1-1/2", and machined of nickel-plated hardened steel (0.140" thick). Coated with a satin finish, so you can mark it with a pencil (cleans off easily). Accurate to within .0015" per foot.
One edge is notched for Fender, Martin, and long-scale Gibson fretboards. The other edge fits short-scale (24-3/4") Gibsons.

I couldn't adjust necks, or do accurate fretwork without the notched straightedge. |
