Custom-fit bridge pins with your shop drill press
Bridge Pin Slotter
"Well-fitted bridge pins, especially non-plastic pins, enhance tone and volume. It's great to be able to add slots to bone, ivoroid, and wooden bridge pins, and this service is a good money maker." Dan Erlewine
Use the Bridge Pin Slotter with your drill press and our custom ball-end bit, and you can cut string slots in bridge pins quickly and precisely.
Slotter and bits sold individually or SAVE $8.00 when you buy the set of both.

Our Bridge Pin Slotter was developed by Dan Erlewine, Don MacRostie and John Mickelson. The cutting length is adjustable, and the sliding block accepts both 3-degree (Gibson/Gurian) and 5-degree (vintage/Martin) tapered pins. You can create a set of individually custom-fitted bridge pins: use your drill press to vary the depth of cut according to the string gauges, and according to the depth of the string notches in the bridge.
Our Bridge Pin Slotting Bits are custom cutters with 1/8" shank, available in 3/64" and 5/64" rounded ends, for use with our Bridge Pin Slotter. The smaller end cuts slots for unwound strings, and the large end will cut slots for wound strings.
The Bridge Pin Slotter will not hold our #4979 or #4978 oversize bridge pins.
