Easier clamping in tighter spaces
Camless Clamps
You're probably using traditional wooden cam clamps in your shop. They're faster and lighter than metal clamps, and give strong pressure for instrument assembly. The cam levers can be awkward, though, and when lots of clamps are used around a tightly curved edge, such as an instrument body, the cams can interfere with each other. We found a solution by simply replacing the wooden cam with a thumbscrew: a "camless" clamp. Now you can place the clamps closer together with easier access for adjustments, and get finer control of clamping pressure, too.
