These unique mini handsaws are a new application of traditional Japanese tool craftsmanship. Ingeniously designed for easy and efficient refret preparation, their high quality .020" alloy steel blades get into fret slots to loosen stubborn old glue and packed wood chips fast. You can work on bound fingerboards where a fret saw can't go, and also deepen the slots if needed. The convenient blade angle lets you clean right up to the edge of the bindings. These saws help leave fret slots gunk-free, a must for seating replacement fretwire correctly.
Both Japanese Fret Slot Cleaning Saws have traditional lightweight 5-1/8" (130.17mm) bamboo handles.
The single-edge saw has a 9/16" (14.29mm) cutting edge with finely crafted traditional pull-cut teeth, for a fast, efficient jam-free cut.
The double-edge saw features time-saving 9/16" (14.29mm) pull-cut and 1/2" (12.70mm) push-cut teeth, for clearing both ends of the fret slot right up to the bindings. The cutting edges are angled for easy access to your work.
TIP: Our Fret Slot Depth Gauge is a great way to check your progress while cleaning fret slots.
