Don MacRostie introduced us to this remarkably handy little tool. Made of durable non-corroding stainless steel that wipes clean easily, it's a versatile double-end mini spatula that's great for mixing stains, epoxies, shellac or hide glue, applying spot fillers or lacquer burn-in repairs, and more.
See details below
The Mixing/Sanding Spatula is one of those simple unassuming tools that can quickly find lots of uses in the shop. For example, Don attaches different grits of Stikit sandpaper to transform the tool into a handy multiple spot-leveler/sander—perfect for tight areas such as the scrolls of his mandolins. Repairman Dan Erlewine finds the spatula great for putting hot hide glue in fret slots. Mixing and applying epoxy for pearl inlay work is a natural use, too. Because the tool is double-ended, a clean blade is right there when you need it.
Dimensions: Rounded blades are approximately 5/16" x 2" x .023" (7.94mm x 50.8mm x .58mm) Overall length 8" (203.2mm)
